Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Kreab Gavin Anderson has been called in by Channel Island-based company Alderney Renewable Energy to advise on public affairs and corporate comms in the UK and France. The firm has a 65-year licence to generate electricity from the tidal flows around the Channel Islands.

PPS Group director Rebekah Paczek has left the agency to launch her own firm, Snapdragon Consulting. Paczek named three clients that have followed her from PPS to her new enterprise - Workspace Group, Park Holidays UK and Saint-Gobain.

Pagoda Public Relations, the Edinburgh-based PR and public affairs agency, has acquired Morhamburn Consultancy. The deal creates a 15-strong company specialising in public affairs, media relations, community consultation and wider stakeholder communication. 'Our aim is to reinforce our position as Scotland's premier consultancy for issues-based PR and public affairs,' said MD Ian Coldwell.

Chelgate has hired an aide to Conservative MP and former shadow home secretary David Davis as an account manager. David Spencer joins the London public affairs firm after three years running Davis' office in the House of Commons.
