Healthcare: Cohn & Wolfe swoops for Ogilvy's Bradley

Cohn & Wolfe has hired Oglivy director Terry Bradley as UK healthcare MD as it continues to rebuild the practice following a number of senior departures.

Bradley will begin the newly created role at C&W on 1 December and will report to global head of health Mike Kan and UK CEO Scott Wilson.

He joins following five years at fellow WPP agency Oglivy Healthworld, most recently as senior business director. Prior to Ogilvy Healthworld, Bradley held a number of senior health comms roles including MD of a specialist medical education agency. He was also international sales and marketing director at medical journal The Lancet.

The appointment follows a turbulent past 12 months for C&W during which a number of senior staff left the firm.

In late 2009, C&W healthcare directors Fiona McMillan and Rebecca Galbraith both handed in their notices. The agency also parted company with board director Jo Spadaccino in June 2010. She went on to join Sussex-based healthcare shop Pegasus.

But the agency has sought to bounce back with a number of recent hires to the healthcare practice including Kan as global head of health and Clare Lucker as a senior director.

Kan said Bradley's appointment demonstrated the firm's determination to further strengthen the UK healthcare practice. 'Terry will lead and develop the London health team. His role and impressive experience will be fundamentally important as we continue to drive our healthcare practice forward,' said Kan.

Bradley's responsibilities will include new business development, providing senior strategic counsel and developing senior talent.
