DIARY: PR is just the tip of the iceberg for this twosome

There have been plenty of PROs with interesting leisure activities in these pages, but news reaches the Diary of a pair who actually manage to make their ’hobbies’ pay.

There have been plenty of PROs with interesting leisure activities

in these pages, but news reaches the Diary of a pair who actually manage

to make their ’hobbies’ pay.

In fact, three-year-old dance music specialist agency Reverb PR is more

a multi-media empire in the making than a mere PR agency.

When not handling PR for a raft of dance music record labels and London

’super club’ Fabric, partners Richard Welch and Simon Warrington also

double as a successful DJ-ing duo and clothes designers.

According to Welch, the DJ work, under the name Dick’n’Cy, has seen the

duo spin discs throughout the length and breadth of Europe, including

Moscow, Milan and Serbia. ’We play quality dance music from across the

board,’ he says.

The other wing of this fledgling empire is a business designing T-shirts

- their latest collection and first under the brand name DICK N CY has

already attracted interest in the fashion pages of the Daily Telegraph

and the Independent, as well as magazines such as Ministry, ID, Sky and

The Face.

But before Reverb’s clients start crying that they’re not getting as

much coverage as Dick’n’Cy’s other business interests, Welch claims:

’The agency is the most important element - the others we do for

enjoyment.

And besides, our extra-curricular activities help us keep our eye on the

ball with regards to our clients.’
