DIARY: Single-minded PRO boosts client’s profile as well as his love life

Normally when computer game PR specialist Bastion is appointed by a game developer, the brief is to promote its products, rather than staff.

Normally when computer game PR specialist Bastion is appointed by a

game developer, the brief is to promote its products, rather than

staff.

However PRO Charlotte Fox had a trickier brief when publicity-hungry

Jason Kingsley, MD of Rebellion, responsible for such unforgettable

titles as Aliens v Predator, wanted to raise his own profile.

Although an unusual request and a first for the agency, Fox looked

around at other media avenues and managed to secure for Kingsley a

position in the list of Top 50 UK Bachelors in the May issue of Company

magazine.

’Thankfully, he didn’t fall into everyone’s perception of computer games

developer - nerdy and spotty,’ she says.

The article has already secured further results - interviews on Central

TV and in his local newspaper the Oxford Times.

Rumour has it, he’s already had a couple of dates on the back of it.

’Lets just say it hasn’t been detrimental to my love life,’ says

Kingsley coyly.

Still, Diary wonders how Fox will rise to the challenge when all the

’nerdy, spotty’ managing directors of her other clients come knocking on

the door expecting the same treatment.
