MEDIA BRIEFS: McCall to take over Guardian Media Group

The Guardian Media Group has designated Carolyn McCall to take over from managing director Caroline Marland when she retires at the end of November 2000. McCall, who is currently deputy MD, joined the Guardian in 1986 and worked on merging the advertising sales teams when it bought the Observer. She was appointed Marland’s deputy in 1998.
