The organisation is looking to maintain the momentum it has developed following the recent celebration of its centenary.
Forster will work with the in-house team to develop a media relations programme for 2011. Forster director Peter Gilheany will lead the team.
Gilheany said: ‘They provide a much needed voice for girls and young women in the UK, and we want to help that voice be heard.
‘Having seen the amazing work they did with their centenary celebrations this year, we are particularly excited by the challenge of developing their profile and reaching out to new audiences and communicating on new issues.’ Girlguiding UK PR and public affairs manager Kaisu Fagan led the pitch process.
Fagan said: ‘We had some fantastic proposals from the agencies that pitched, but we chose Forster as it had the best understanding of what we were looking for, knew how to work effectively with children and young adults and was so clearly passionate about the audience and the issues that affect them.’
