The US Institute for Public Relations and the Council of Public Relations Firms are collaborating on a series of models to measure the effectiveness of PR programmes. The council has committed pounds 65,000 to the project and has hired research company Wirthlin Worldwide to develop models which forecast and assess PR effectiveness. The project involves case studies in ten PR sectors - including consumer PR, public affairs and investor relations - to develop best practice models in each.
