BORDER LINES: BRUSSELS - Publicis to promote euro currency

The European Central Bank has hired global communications agency Publicis to launch the single currency’s notes and coins for the first wave of countries using the euro at the start of 2002. The Paris agency will spearhead a pounds 50 million campaign using PR, on-line marketing, and advertising. The campaign aims to familiarise people with the euro banknotes and coins. It will focus on recognition, security features, denominations and the means by which the cash will be introduced in 2002.
