BBC Worldwide has hired new PR agency Mission 21 to handle media
relations for the launch of BBC History Magazine.
Mission 21’s managing director Richard Knight will lead the team,
reporting to Mike Blakemore, head of press and PR, magazines. There was
no competitive pitch for the magazine, although the agency did present
ideas and credentials before the appointment was made.
The magazine launches this week and is aimed at people with a general
interest in history, as well as students. Mission 21 will target
consumers with its PR campaign, aiming to win coverage of the title in
the media, particularly in the broadsheets and regional newspapers and
