PUBLIC SECTOR: Walmsley Jones lands cotton association

The Liverpool Cotton Association, the trade body which acts as the regulator and settlement centre for 60 per cent of trade on the world cotton market, has appointed Cheshire-based PR agency Walmsley Jones Communications as part of a push to improve the organisation’s public image. The association enforces trading contracts and arbitrates disputes over quality or volume between traders. Joan Walmsley will work with the body’s director general Robert Williams and takes on a brief to raise the profile of the exchange.
