Country Life English Butter has appointed the Drum Consultancy after a non-competitive pitch to promote the brand’s 30th anniversary to trade and consumer press.

after a non-competitive pitch to promote the brand’s 30th anniversary to

trade and consumer press.



It is the first time that the butter consortium has outsourced its PR in

20 years. The agency approached Country Life last September and, after a

series of meetings and a presentation to the consortium’s board, secured

the account.



’Our campaign is in support of an advertising campaign and together we

hope to put Country Life back as the UK’s best-selling brand,’ said Drum

account director Diana Harris.



Country Life is currently the third best-selling butter in the UK,

behind Lurpak and Anchor. It is however the best-selling

English-manufactured brand and is produced by four dairies who form the

EBMC Consortium.



PR will focus on promoting the core brand values of ’natural, creamy,

freshness’ and the slogan: ’you’ll never put a better bit of butter on

your knife’.
