Financial Dynamics has appointed former US-based financial PRO

Anton Nicholas as a partner. Nicholas joins FD from New York-based Sard

Verbinnen, where he was a senior associate for three years and declined

a vice-president position to join FD.

At Sard Verbinnen, Nicholas was involved in a variety of international

transaction work including the APA merger and the defence of Societe

Generale from takeover by Banque Nationale de Paris.

’Europe and the UK are following the US market in the amount of merger

and acquisition work and IPOs - they are already exposing explosive

growth and there is a lot of opportunity,’ said Nicholas.

At Financial Dynamics, Nicholas will work alongside partners Jo Moss and

Nick Bennett to build the agency’s international assignment work in

Europe and the US.

’Anton’s experience of the US IPO market is important with increasing

demand for dual listings in the US and Europe. Having someone based in

the UK who has in-depth knowledge is extremely beneficial and clients

like it because it is someone who has authority,’ said FD managing

director Nick Miles.

Nicholas came to FD’s attention when both parties met as a result of

transaction work last summer. Both agencies worked on the unsuccessful

three-way merger between aluminum groups Alcan, Pechiney and

Algroup.

FD has a total staff of 120, 30 of whom are partners. Nicholas reports

to Miles.
