Polydor Records' Selina Webb takes newly created comms role at Universal Music Group

Polydor Records' Selina Webb has been promoted to the new position of senior director, communications for Universal Music UK.

Webb previously held the position of director of comms at Polydor, which is part of the Universal Music Group.

In her new role, which begins with immediate effect, Webb will report to Universal Music UK chairman & CEO David Joseph.

Joseph commented: ‘Selina has overseen countless successful artist launches for Polydor, and some of the biggest music news stories of the past decade, courtesy of Eminem, Take That, Girls Aloud and Lady Gaga, among many others. In her new role, she will turn her passion, creativity and exceptional PR instincts to leading a fresh approach to communications for Universal Music UK.'

Webb joined Universal in 1998 from having previous worked as editor of the music industry trade magazine Music Week.

Following Webb’s promotion, Polydor’s press department will be overseen by head of press Susie Ember.
