Border Lines: CHICAGO - Porter Novelli buys EBS PR

The Porter Novelli Convergence Group (PNCG) has acquired Chicago-based technology agency EBS Public Relations. The acquisition of EBS, which generates roughly pounds 1.9 million a year in PR revenues, boosts PN’s Chicago practice into the pounds 6 million range. The firm will now have roughly 90 employees in the city. ’We have all this pent-up demand in Chicago for hi-tech public relations,’ said Porter Novelli CEO Bob Druckenmiller.

’But before now, we couldn’t really deliver.’ EBS founders Erica and

Brian Swerdlow will become senior vice-presidents at PNCG and will run

its Chicago operations.
