Public Sector: The Public Sector week

- Universities Week is set to appoint a PR agency to promote next year's event. The project is a national campaign run by representative body Universities UK and aimed at highlighting the role of universities in the UK and their impact on the economy, culture, society and the environment. Universities UK has a shortlist and is interviewing agencies this week.

- The British Library has launched a press office website at pressandpolicy.bl.uk. This site allows journalists to search and download press releases, images and video at the click of a button. It also provides up-to-date information on the library's policy on the issues affecting the library.

- VisitBritain is the only public sector body to feature in a top 30 of the most popular UK brands on Twitter. Its main Twitter feed @VisitBritain is at number 16 in the league table compiled by branded content agency Sutro Digital.

- Hillingdon Council is rolling out bra recycling banks across the borough in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The pink bra banks can be found at ten locations across the borough. The bras will be sent to Africa to be re-used. For every 17 bras that are recycled, £1 will go to The Breast Cancer Campaign charity on behalf of the council.
