It has emerged that Niall Cowley closed the agency after it was hit hard by public sector cuts.
Cowley is now working as a senior consultant at Media Consulta in Berlin.
He said: ‘Bright Young Things lost nearly all its public sector clients in one fell swoop after the change of government, so we had to stop trading.’
Cowley, who took the job at Media Consulta in August, is working for the senior management team of the international unit.
Bright Young Things specialised in voluntary sector communications, with clients such as the School Food Trust, League Against Cruel Sports and the Soil Association.
It is understood that the agency had around five employees, including account director James Ramsay who formerly worked as country manager for the UK arm of Media Consulta.
Cowley formerly worked as comms director at BeatBullying, which became a client. Cowley was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.
