August. One Communications, the consumer brand spun-off from Text
100, is headhunting two director-level consultants with consumer and
corporate experience, as the agency seeks to compete for non-technology
clients.
’Although we are a new board we have all worked together for a long
time; however we are all from a similar technology background and so are
keen for new blood and outside experience,’ said August. One president
Katie Kemp.
At present the August. One board consists of five - managing director
Tariq Khwaja, president Katie Kemp, EMEA director Stuart Handley, APAC
director Sophie Brooks and Sarah Howe, who is director of client
services.
According to Kemp, the agency is looking for one director with fmcg
experience to specialise in consumer work. The other position requires
more corporate and business-to-business expertise.
’We are seeking people who are used to advising CEOs and company boards
and have expertise running a business,’ said Kemp.
The directors will have a global brief as the agency builds an
international network. It has offices in the UK and Australia, but aims
to open another eight offices in Germany, Ireland, South Africa, India,
Singapore and North America within a year.
