Flack: (Saving) on expenses - The Anthologist, London EC2V

Reviewer - Gay Collins, executive chairman, MHP Communications.

What is it good for?

The Anthologist bills itself as 'the perfect antidote to the City' and is refreshingly different. It is an all-day and evening venue with an array of spaces. It's ideal for an informal meal or after-work drink with contacts you know well and is a fun, hip place to meet.

Signature dishes

The biggest sellers tend to be the old British favourites such as the fish and chips. Diners also come for the signature 14oz steak on the bone. Sharing boards of seafood, cured meat or chargrilled vegetables work well as shared starters or a nibble over after-work drinks.

Who's the boss?

It was launched by Drake & Morgan, the people behind The Parlour in Canary Wharf and The Refinery in Bermondsey. This is the first restaurant it has opened in the City and it keeps to the same formula of quality food and drink in a relaxed environment.

Tips please?

I would recommend booking early.

What's the damage?

Lunch/dinner prices can be anything between £5.95 and £34.95.
