Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Portland has been called in by Tullow Oil, the FTSE 100 independent oil and gas exploration and production group, to assist with global stakeholder management and outreach.

The agency landed the 12-month contract after a competitive pitch. Portland will work with the firm's V-P, external affairs Rosalind Kainyah and her team to target government agencies, NGOs, local communities, business communities and other influencers where Tullow operates.

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, the chartered body for health and safety professionals, has handed a public affairs brief to Westminster Advisers. This follows the publication of Lord Young's review for the Government of health and safety laws.

Blue Rubicon has bolstered its board with the hire of Kate Waters, currently planning partner at direct marketing agency Partners Andrews Aldridge. She will work alongside director Spencer Livermore, who recently set up the agency's strategic consulting arm.

Energy UK has hired Liberal Democrat press officer Donald Campbell as senior press officer. Energy UK is the body that represents the major gas and electricity suppliers. Campbell worked for three years as press officer to a number of senior Lib Dems, having previously been at Fleishman-Hillard.
