Currie has been at the Next Fifteen Group for nearly 15 years, where he founded b2b tech shop Inferno as a spin off from Bite Communications.

Following the merger of Inferno back into Bite in May 2009, Currie was made global director of Bite Communications.

He will report to H&K UK CEO, Richard Millar, and head up a team of 20 in his new role.

Millar said: 'Grant’s appointment marks a new step in the consolidation of our sector model, and we are delighted to welcome him to Hill & Knowlton.

'His deep knowledge built within specialist technology agency environment, combined with his experience working with blue chip technology brands will bring tangible value to our clients.'

Currie will replace interim head of technology Ben Padfield.
