Describe the channel
We’ve created VeggieVision to be the primary online source of information and entertainment on healthy vegetarian and vegan lifestyles. With an estimated 4 million vegetarians in the UK, this is surprisingly an area that isn’t catered for TV cookery programme wise. We also have VeggieVisionDating and VeggieVisioncashback as we want to add as much value to the viewers as possible.
Who watches the show?
Mainly health conscious viewers, both men and women. Lots of vegetarians, vegans, people who are allergic to dairy and people who have family and friends who are vegetarian.
Who are your competitors and what makes you different?
Well we like to think that the world is big enough for us all. There are vegetarian magazines – and these are our friends too. There is not another internet TV station that focuses on this expanding niche.
What makes a good story for you?
Something connected with vegetarian living, celebrities, real people we focus on the positive too. Its great that people know what we are about. Vegetarian recipes filled with dairy products isn’t going to work and of course meat recipes are not of interest. We love video content as we are an internet TV station. We love to work with people too and are keen on cross promotion where we can support like-minded companies as well.
What opportunities are there for PRs to get coverage and what tips can you give them to be successful?
We are keen to hear about new products – they have to contain no animal ingredients. We love giving as much value to our viewers and keen on special offers and viewer competitions. We like to review products as well. We like video content too. Something that the viewer will learn from, get inspiration from or find moving or funny.
What are your own personal media must-haves?
I enjoy personal development and raw food magazines. The Stage used to be my bible but now I am too busy replying to aspiring presenters to look for presenting and acting work myself.
What TV shows do you watch?
I don’t watch a great deal of TV because there is always too much to do. But I do watch the usual funny ones like The InBetweeners and The IT Crowd – I love conspiracy and personal development video content and try to watch that when I can.
