Stephan Shakespeare, the former spokesman for disgraced Tory peer
Lord Archer, has launched an internet venture with Bell Pottinger Public
Affairs as a strategic partner.
YouGov.com is a web site promoting ’e-democracy’ in the UK, and is
co-founded by Nadhim Zahawi, formerly Archer’s director of field
Neither Shakespeare nor Zahawi is involved with Archer’s affairs any
longer, and Archer is not involved with the launch in any way.
Bell Pottinger Public Affairs has a small equity stake in the site and
YouGov.com is based at its offices. Paul Baverstock, MD of Bell
Pottinger Public Affairs, is a member of the site’s board.
Bell Pottinger is also working to raise awareness of the site. Other
partners include Freeserve, the UK’s largest ISP and Politico’s, the
political bookseller and publisher.
