MEDIA BRIEFS: Riley to head up women’s web site

Lisa Riley has been appointed MD of uk.women.com, a female interest web site set to launch at the end of the year. The former MD of now defunct home delivery service Somerfield 24-7 will develop the joint venture between The National Magazine Company and US group Women.com. NatMags stressed that the site will not simply reproduce material from its magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Company. ’You don’t sit down and curl up with your laptop on the sofa,’ a spokeswoman said. ’You want to be able to get what you want quickly.’
