PARIS: The City of Paris has a permanent head for its
communications directorate, the DGIC. The new PR director, Jean-Francois
Probst, is a former press secretary to President Jacques Chirac - when
Chirac was Prime Minister - and more recently the personal spokesman for
present mayor Jacques Tiberi. Probst will take charge of spending the
City of Paris’ annual pounds 8.5 million communications budget. Michel
Bassi, who temporarily headed the DGIC, has left to become personal
communications adviser to Tiberi.
