BORDER LINES: Probst to direct Paris communications

PARIS: The City of Paris has a permanent head for its communications directorate, the DGIC. The new PR director, Jean-Francois Probst, is a former press secretary to President Jacques Chirac - when Chirac was Prime Minister - and more recently the personal spokesman for present mayor Jacques Tiberi. Probst will take charge of spending the City of Paris’ annual pounds 8.5 million communications budget. Michel Bassi, who temporarily headed the DGIC, has left to become personal communications adviser to Tiberi.
