NEW YORK: Citigate Sard Verbinnen has bulked up its

upper-management ranks in the wake of its acquisition by Incepta three

months ago.

Hoping to accommodate increased transaction business and new referrals

from other Incepta-owned companies, the firm has added eight

senior-level PROs.

Joining Citigate Sard as vice-presidents are; Denise Des Chenes,

formerly senior managing director of Hill and Knowlton’s corporate

practice; Amy Rosen, from Edelman; James Barron, previously corporate

relations director for British Telecom in north America; Matthew Benson,

a senior director at Washington DC-based public affairs firm Bivings

Woodell; and Hugh Burns, formerly a lawyer with Sullivan and

Cromwell.

The three new senior associates are Daniel Gagnier, Keil Decker and

Susan Burns.

’We’re continuing to staff up in order to support the growth we’ve

experienced,’ said Citigate Sard chairman and chief executive George

Sard.

Sard said that the agency has already been working with other Incepta

companies. The firm employs 40 people and expects to exceed its 1999

revenues of pounds 9.3 million this year.

Citigate Sard’s current M&A work includes the purchase by Deutsche

Telekom of Voicestream and Terra Networks’ tentative agreement to buy

web portal Lycos.
