PUBLIC SECTOR: Hackney Council to recruit new PR head

The gap at London’s Hackney Council left by the departure of the head of PR and communications Marina Pirotta, is to be filled following the council’s decision to recruit more actively. Pirotta’s January move to the London Borough of Brent was followed in May by that of her former deputy, James Flynn, to Southwark Council. The job reports to new chief executive Max Caller and will take up the reigns from external agency Renaissance, which was brought in three months ago to conduct a review of the council’s communications strategy in the light of the Government’s best value campaign, and to handle the recruitment process.
