Flack: (Saving) on expenses - Cicada, London EC1

Reviewer: Shaun Madle, creative director, The Think Tank.

- What is it good for?

It's a great place to meet up, as most people in London know of St John Street. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it has free Wi-Fi, which is great if you are discussing websites. You can have a quiet table or be more in the hub of the action and there are some tables outside, which are lovely on a sunny day.

- Signature dishes

The food is an Asian-fusion mix, which works well when you are talking to a client - lots of easy to eat, delicious dishes, with some unusual combinations.

- Who's the boss?

Owned by Ricker Restaurants, which also owns E&O, Eight Over Eight, XO and Great Eastern Dining Room.

- Tips please?

Go for a wide selection from the menu or ask the waiter to put together a set meal. Dishes will just keep turning up when you have finished one. There are also great cocktails and the venue has a gentle buzz in the early evening.

- What's the damage?

Lunch for two with wine is about £60.

Cicada, 132-136 St John Street, London EC1V 4JT, 020 7608 1550.
