Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Crossrail has maintained its public affairs account with Mandate Communications, now MHP, after an eight-way shoot-out. Bellenden Public Affairs, Blue Rubicon, Cavendish, Hanover, Portland, Quiller and Tetra Strategy all pitched unsuccessfully.

The City of London Corporation, the local authority for the Square Mile, is to hold a pitch for public affairs support. City of London director of PR Tony Halmos said the corporation currently used a 'named individual'.

Cogitamus has signed Claire MacAleese, a former adviser to the past two Labour transport secretaries Lord Adonis and Geoff Hoon. She joins as an associate consultant, working part-time.

Tesco has appointed Conservative Party press officer Amy Jackson to be government affairs manager.

Good Relations has hired Conservative Party press officer Giles Bancroft as an account director.

Brunswick has recruited Mike Girling, former deputy press secretary to Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg, as an account director.

Political Lobbying & Media Relations has appointed Kathrine Bancroft, former press secretary to Vince Cable, as an associate director.
