Top Rank’s PR manager, Ruth Higham, has moved across to the agency

world by taking up a senior position at Band and Brown

Communications.

Higham has been with The Rank Group for over four years and headed PR

for the group’s bingo brands, Top Rank and Mecca Clubs.

Debbie Catt takes over the post of PR manager at Top Rank, but she will

also continue her role as corporate affairs manager of Rank Leisure. She

will oversee the rebranding of the bingo operation to Mecca Bingo, which

is to be completed this autumn.

Higham joins B&B as associate director, heading the Somerfield account

and overseeing consumer campaigns for BT payphones.

Higham is the fourth former client to join the agency this year. Other

recent B&B recruits include Keith Brown from Swallow Hotels, Noel

Privett from Midland Bank and Dominic Byrne from Action Aid.

Band and Brown managing director Gill Brown said that in-house people

’have a practical and genuine understanding of how companies think and

operate’.
