French car manufacturer Peugeot has appointed Andrew Didlick as its
director of UK public relations.
He will oversee a team of two PR managers and two executives who handle
all of Peugeot’s PR requirements, from the manufacturer’s Coventry
Didlick insisted it was too early to comment on any specific
requirements or initiatives within his new role, other than to maintain
a high profile for Peugeot. He reports to marketing director Rob
Didlick replaces Colin Lewis, who left three weeks ago. It is not known
where Lewis has gone, or why he left the firm, but a spokesman from the
French car company said that changes in personnel and collaboration
between France and the UK ’are ongoing’ as part of a large-scale
reorganisation, which includes direct reporting to France. Lewis had
held the post for less than one year.
Didlick has been with Peugeot since 1992, arriving from Jaguar. Latterly
he was general manager for the Peugeot’s after market parts operation,
Motaquip. Before that, he was national advertising manager for Peugeot
UK for five years.
Last year, Peugeot’s sales in the UK were at their highest, up three per
cent to around 193,500 cars. The firm is the third largest car seller in
the UK behind Ford and Vauxhall.
