Jaguar has appointed James Thomas as the first PR manager for
Jaguar Racing, following its recent foray into the Formula 1 racing
Thomas, 33, was public affairs manager at Toyota (GB) plc prior to the
appointment, and takes up the newly-created post next week.
Reporting to Jaguar’s director of international affairs and motorsport
Colin Cook, Thomas’ brief will be to co-ordinate all of Jaguar Racing’s
Formula 1 press relations and promote the brand in national news, racing
and lifestyle publications.
He will be based in the public affairs office at Jaguar Cars in
Coventry, but will move between the Jaguar Racing team in Milton Keynes
and the Jaguar Engines base in Cosworth, Northampton. Thomas told PR
Week that his appointment reflected global changes taking place at
Jaguar entered Formula 1 racing for the first time in January this year,
with the launch of a new car - the Jaguar R1. A three-strong media

forthcoming Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, on 12 March, which marks
the beginning of the Formula 1 season.
Commenting on Thomas’ appointment, Cook said the company would
