DIARY: Yachting PROs look absolutely fabulous, darling

Last week Hill and Knowlton rounded up lay people who will be

sailing on the BT Global Challenge to stoke up a bit of publicity for

the race, which kicks off in one year’s time.

To highlight the fact that the participants are all ’everyday people’

rather than professional sailors and international playboys, H&K account

manager Sam Clark persuaded 30 of them to come along dressed in their

work clothes.

Those in easily identifiable professions like policemen didn’t have to

make too much of an effort, but Tina Williamson and Glenda Porter, PR

managers for Global Challenge and race organisers Challenge Business

respectively, who are both taking part in the race, had to go a little

bit further.

Clark persuaded them to dress up as characters from Absolutely Fabulous

- Williamson turned up as Patsy and Porter was kitted out as Edina. No

mistaking their professions then, sweetie.
