Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

The Advertising Producers Association has hired Westminster Advisers for a public affairs brief.

The Advertising Producers Association is the trade body for production, post-production and VFX and editing companies making commercials. Westminster Advisers is headed by MD Dominic Church.

Ellwood & Atfield has found that top lobbyists in Brussels consultancies, trade associations and firms can earn over EUR100,000 more than the highest paid EU officials. The recruitment firm's Brussels remuneration report 2010/11 involved 200 interviews, referencing its database of over 8,000 European executives and analysing EU Commission published data. The MD of a consultancy can earn EUR300,000 to EUR400,000.

TaxPayers' Alliance co-founder and CEO Matthew Elliott is preparing to take a sabbatical from his day job to spearhead the 'No' campaign against electoral reform, ahead of the planned referendum next year. He takes up the role next month. Chairing the 'Yes' campaign is Pam Giddy, a longstanding campaigner for reform in Westminster.
