C&W to fight Greenpeace

An Indonesian paper firm fighting deforestation accusations from Greenpeace has handed a seven-figure global comms brief to Cohn & Wolfe.

Asian Pulp & Paper is a subsidiary of Sinar Mas Group, the firm at the centre of controversy earlier this year over Nestle's use of palm oil.

Greenpeace has since set its sights on APP, accusing it of secretly planning to massively increase deforestation in Indonesia. The company this week denied the claims.

Donna Imperato, president and CEO of C&W, said: 'APP has been treated unfairly and the company has a very good story to tell.'
