PUBLIC SECTOR: Royal College of Art poaches Williamson

The Royal College of Art (RCA) has poached Tracy Williamson from the Victoria and Albert Museum to fill its top PR job. The move comes as the RCA repositions itself internationally as the only wholly postgraduate institution in the world dedicated to art, craft and design, in order to attract a wider base of students. Williamson’s brief is to plan and deliver a PR and marketing strategy to underpin these goals. She will oversee a team of two and report to development director Sally Mason. The role is an upgrade of the post held by previous incumbent Ingrid Bleichroeder, whose responsibilities were confined to PR. Bleichroeder left in April for family reasons.
