Ginger TV chooses MacLaurin for BBC1 show Red Alert PR

Chris Evans’ production company Ginger TV has turned to MacLaurin

Communications, rather than usual PR agency Freud Communications, to

promote Red Alert, its Saturday night BBC 1 show.

Freud manages Evans’ personal publicity and has handled PR for all his

projects. The relationship began when Evans presented the Big

Breakfast.

Freud has handled corporate PR for Ginger TV, Virgin Radio and TFI

Friday.

Red Alert, presented by Lulu, is Ginger’s largest production, and the

company’s first significant move away from Evans-fronted, youth-oriented

programming.

As well as promoting the show, MacLaurin will handle Lulu’s personal PR.

The Express has marked the advent of Red Alert by this week publishing a

’warts and all’ three-part series on Lulu’s life, which she did not

co-operate with.

A series of 14 shows starting in late-autumn, Red Alert will feature

stars, live music and games. The 55-minute show will feature the main

Saturday night lottery draw.

Ginger TV managing director Eileen Gallagher said: ’We chose MacLaurin

for this pivotal assignment because it has a strong record in this

sector.’
