Electrical retailing giant Dixons has appointed Mario Dunn to the
new post of public affairs head.
Dunn will carry out a routine review of Dixons’ public affairs account
with its longstanding agency, GJW.
His remit covers UK and EU public affairs for all parts of the Dixons
group, which includes recently floated ISP Freeserve, electrical
retailer Currys, PC World and telephone chain The Link.
The range of policy issues Dunn will tackle spans e-commerce
legislation, credit card charges, the euro and the disposal of

responsible for a two-strong team covering political and community
Dixons’ public affairs were previously handled by Smith and public
affairs executive Phil Snape, who now reports to Dunn. Dunn joins from
Hill and Knowlton, where he was an account director in the public
affairs practice for two years.
