FRANKFURT: German airline Lufthansa has appointed PR consultancies

in the Czech Republic and Russia.

Dale Lawrence, the airline’s Heathrow-based head of corporate

communications, has selected Prague-based Ewing PR and Moscow-based

Infomost.

Both agencies will handle media relations and brand development. Ewing’s

work will be headed by Pavlina Riselova, and includes some related

project work in Slovakia. Infomost’s account team, headed by Evgeny

Semenov and Boris Rybak, will work across the Russian Federation and the

CIS.

The appointments bring the number of agencies reporting to Lawrence

across his territories of the UK, northern, central and eastern Europe

to nine. In the UK the company uses BGB and Associates, while the

remaining roster includes JKL in Sweden, Communicator in Norway and

Denmark, Slattery PR in the Republic of Ireland, the Rowland Company in

Hungary and Sigma in Poland. In Germany, Lufthansa handles PR

in-house.

While agencies are charged with raising brand awareness for the airline,

most also work for other companies within the Lufthansa group including

Lufthansa Consulting, Lufthansa Cargo and Lufthansa Technik.

- The Airline Public Relations Organisation has appointed Dale Lawrence

chairman. He succeeds Air 2000’s Simon Buck.
