Chase Vodka was awarded the title of 'Best Vodka in the World' at the San Francisco World Spirits Awards 2010, beating 115 rivals including products from Russia and Poland. Hillgrove PR was asked to raise the profile of Chase Distillery.

Objectives

- To raise awareness of the Chase brand and products

- To position Chase Vodka as the leader in the market

- To promote founder William Chase as one of the UK's top entrepreneurs.

Strategy and plan

Hillgrove PR capitalised on founder William Chase's history. Chase founded Tyrrells crisps before selling a 75 per cent stake for £40m in 2008 and launching Chase Distilleries. Chase's interests included organic farming, traditional distilling methods, supporting small businesses and expansion into beauty products and vodka-petrol.

Measurement and evaluation

William Chase has appeared on BBC Breakfast, Radio 5 Live, Reuters TV and Fox News and has featured in the majority of the UK's newspapers. There has also been extensive coverage in magazines including Vogue, House & Garden and Esquire.

Results

Chase Vodka is now being sold in the UK's most prestigious establishments such as Harrods, The Ivy and The Ritz. The campaign has generated interest in America and Singapore.
