Beavis joins the mobile giant from his current role as a director at Brando where he has been working on the agency’s Sony Ericsson business for over five years. Before working at Brando he was PR manager at The AA.
Beavis said: ‘Having lived and breathed Sony Ericsson since we launched its first Walkman handset back in 2005, I’ve become very attached to the brand. I’m incredibly excited about the jump over to in-house and can’t wait to start developing plans that showcase just how capable and exciting our forthcoming Android products are when it comes to mobile entertainment.’
Previously UK PR & sponsorship activity fell under the remit of Richard Dorman, who is moving to the role of senior marketing partnerships manager in Sony Ericsson’s global marketing team.
He will be looking after Sony Ericsson’s association with UEFA and working closely with Sony on other joint partnership initiatives.
Beavis starts his new role at the beginning of October and will be based at Sony Ericsson’s Farnborough office before moving to Hammersmith with the UK team in January.
