PUBLIC SECTOR: Crisis media head moves to Samaritans

Homeless charity Crisis is losing its media head, Julie Alexander, to the Samaritans. Alexander will join the counselling charity next week to head the three-strong communications team and will report to external affairs director Paul Gauntlett. She will be responsible for ensuring the charity maintains a consistent corporate image and executing the PR strategy of the charity which aims to promote itself as a resource for young people and to recruit volunteers. Alexander replaces Rosie Brocklehurst, who left in April to work as a freelance consultant (PR Week, 16 April).
