Westminster Strategy is launching a graduate training programme in
partnership with the London School of Economics (LSE).
WS is the first public affairs agency to run such a scheme in
collaboration with a specific university. Other agencies, including
Fishburn Hedges and AS Biss and Co, run broader graduate traineeships
not linked to any one university.
Westminster Strategy will recruit one LSE graduate or postgraduate
student a year, who will be trained in public affairs and political
media relations for one year, and salaried. After this period, the
trainee may be offered a full time post with WS.
The programme will include stints working in WS’s sister agencies -
European Strategy in Brussels, Stormont Strategy in Belfast and Strategy
in Scotland in Edinburgh.
WS deputy managing director Mike Lee, who is coordinating the programme,
said: ’The LSE’s reputation and the quality of its graduates made it the
perfect partner.’
- WS has resigned the planning brief of its public affairs account with
Safeway. Safeway is in discussion to appoint a new agency to handle
planning.
