Text 100 has recruited APCO UK founding member John Fraser to head

public affairs for its new corporate PR and public affairs company,

codenamed Ignite.

Text’s lobbying team was reduced to one full-time member last month

after the departure of Samantha Vaughan and Nick Kalisperas to Ludgate

(PR Week, 25 June).

Fraser signed his contract this week and becomes an associate director,

reporting to Ignite’s corporate affairs director Sarah Howell. Text 100

is moving all public affairs clients to Ignite, including Microsoft,

Xerox and Amazon.

The firm has also just hired former AS Biss lobbyist Susan Child to work

under Fraser as a senior policy consultant. Fraser and Child will work

closely with Ignite’s corporate PR team and Fraser plans to recruit

further public affairs consultants in due course.

Fraser was one of six founders of APCO UK, which he joined from Ian

Greer Associates (IGA) in 1996. After two years he transferred to the

agency’s Washington DC firm, APCO Associates, where he was global

services manager.

Child was also at IGA before moving on to AS Biss - the company formed

from the ashes of IGA after it collapsed in the wake of the ’cash for

questions’ affair.
