Hudson Sandler names Mavity as non-executive chairman.

Hudson Sandler has named Conran Holdings CEO Roger Mavity as nonexecutive chairman. He becomes the agency's first external chairman and will continue his role at Conran.

Mavity has headed ad firm Mavity Gilmore, leisure and technology at Granada, Box Clever and served as chairman of Citigate Dewe Rogerson.

Jonathan Atkins, senior media relations manager at Aegon UK, has joined Penrose Financial as an associate director. He spent five years at Aegon, having previously worked at Zurich and Lansons Communications. In recent weeks, the agency has picked up accounts from Quality Capital Management, Marshall Spectrum, GSP and Alternative Investment Management.

Electrocomponents has hired Nigel Main as group head of corporate comms.

He joins from hotel group Wyndham Worldwide and has previously worked for United Business Media, ICI and EMI. The appointment follows a restructure of the firm's comms function led by ex-Bradford & Bingley comms head Tony McGarahan. As part of the overhaul, the group has promoted Andrea Barnard to head of PR and media relations, and brought in Paul Lloyd from Vodafone to head internal comms. McGarahan has finished his restructuring role at Electrocomponents, but has been reappointed by Shanks Group to advise on PR.

Lansons has promoted Amy Butler, Anna Schirmer, Charlotte Collins-White, Louise Marriott and Stuart Lerman to partners. Schirmer and Marriott become partners in the financial services practice, Butler and Collins-White in corporate, and Lerman in brand and consumer.
