Biss Lancaster has bought regional network Leedex PR and is merging

it with its existing regional agency, GTPR.

Leedex, which was owned by marketing entrepreneur Kevin Morley, is

believed to have been for sale for the past two years, during which time

it has lost staff and fee income.

Group MD Jim Horsley left the company in April after a failed management

buyout.

Leedex has offices in Manchester, Bristol and London, while GTPR,

formerly Greenwood Tighe PR, has offices in Manchester, Leeds and

Edinburgh.

At the beginning of 1999, Euro RSCG International Communications Group,

which owns Biss Lancaster, transferred GTPR into Biss Lancaster from its

sister marketing services company KLP.

Biss Lancaster managing director Isabel Greenwood said: ’We feel there

is an opportunity to use local agencies to attract local market business

and to grow a credible regional network business.’

The new business will be rebranded Leedex GTPR. Leedex’s four office MDs

will all continue in their roles, reporting to Greenwood.
