Departures prompt Oxfam PR restructure

Oxfam has restructured its communications department following a series of senior press officer departures. ’The senior role will now focus on the management of the UK press team rather than being a day-to-day operations role, although the appointee will still be involved in handling high profile and difficult issues,’ said head of media Alison Vickers. The imminent departure of the second of two senior press officers, Shelagh Young, following that of Tricia O’Rourke in March, has contributed to a reorganisation.

The charity now plans to appoint a senior press officer and two press
