A dedicated on-line service to benefit PR people working in the
music industry has been launched, aiming to provide a central
information resource for journalists.
The site, www.pr-it.com, is a joint venture between Soho PR and web site
development company i-candy.
The site is primarily a business-to-business tool acting as a means for
record company and music PROs to post their press releases on an
independent web site.
According to Soho PR managing director Anita Strymowicz, the site has
several advantages over services such as PR Newswire, principally
because PROs can add their own releases to the site using a password
rather than having to wait for a third party to do it.
’It also makes it much easier for journalists to find out who the PR
agency involved with a particular artist is,’ she explained.
The venture will be free for PROs and journalists to use and is funded
by US private investors.
This is the first of a series of similar sites with the next,
film@pr-it, to launch later this year. Sister sites in the US will also
be launched by Soho PR’s New York office.
