Ogilvy forms pilot professional services division

Ogilvy PR Worldwide has launched a specialist financial and professional services division in its London office.

Ogilvy PR Worldwide has launched a specialist financial and

professional services division in its London office.

The London practice will act as a pilot division before Ogilvy decides

whether to launch worldwide.

The division has been split off from the corporate team. Former Ogilvy

corporate head Julian Goldsmith will lead the new division, working with

associate director Angela Jacklin.

Goldsmith’s brief will be to target services such as banks, building

societies, law firms and insurance companies. The divison starts with

clients including Barclays, law firm Olswang, Legal and General and The

Boston Consulting Group.

Goldsmith reports to Ogilvy London MD Donna Zurcher and will oversee a

team of five, with plans to double the division’s workforce over the

next few months.

’The financial and professional services sector is an area of such rapid

growth that we decided it would be better to form a specialist division,

separating it from corporate PR,’ said Zurcher.

Former Ogilvy director of e-commerce, Howard de Souza, now replaces

Goldsmith as head of the corporate division. De Souza joined Ogilvy in

April from Bell Pottinger Good Relations (PR Week, 21 April).
