Mike Smith, UK CEO of Finsbury, is to rejoin Brunswick as a chief executive in its London office. Smith has spent the past four years at Finsbury, having joined the firm from Brunswick.

Tertiary Minerals, an AIM-quoted mineral exploration and development company, has appointed Yellow Jersey as its retained agency for financial and investor comms. The account will be run by MD Dominic Barretto, reporting to the company's executive chairman Patrick Cheetham.

PotashCorp, the word's largest fertiliser company, has turned to Tulchan Communications as it seeks to hold off a hostile offer from mining firm BHP Billiton. The agency's involvement will be led by founder Andrew Grant and consultants John Sunnucks and David Shriver. BHP is using retained agency Brunswick to support the bid.

Evolution Group, the independent investment bank and private client wealth management group, has retained Merlin as its financial PR adviser. Director Charles Cook will lead the account.

Checkmate Seaenergy, an alternative energy firm, has called in Blythe Weigh Communications to handle corporate comms. The agency has also picked up investor relations briefs for mining firms Oracle Coalfields and Orosur Mining.

Ingenious Media, the media investment and advisory group, has appointed Hogarth as its retained financial and corporate PR adviser.

Hogarth will manage the group's profile and reputation and support the launch of new alternative investment funds.
