MEDIA BRIEFS: Chrysalis appoints network news head

The Chrysalis Radio Group has named Jonathan Richards as head of network news for its Heart and Galaxy radio brands. Previously head of news for Heart 106.2 FM, Richards will develop national and international news bulletins. The appointment comes as Chrysalis moves towards sourcing more of its news in-house. The regional newsrooms will continue to run independently of the central London operation, but will be able to use feeds when local newsrooms are unstaffed. Prior to Chrysalis, Richards worked for Capital Radio and BBC Radio 4.
